River Valley Ideaville Cash Mob Call to Action

Press Release DATE: 3/25/2012

Press Release
DATE: 3/25/2012 "River Valley Ideaville Cash Mob Call to Action "
River Valley Ideaville events committee has selected the next 3 businesses to be "Mobbed" according to Event Coordinator, Stefanie Wilson. River Valley Ideaville has launched a local initiative to help support the small locally owned businesses that are struggling economically. The group is sponsoring a community event on: March 30th at Gone Loco! Café at No View Farm at 855 South Rumford Rd.

Then beginning in April we will change from dedicating a day to dedicating a week to each business:
Week of April 9th will focus on Mrs. B's Store on Dickvale Rd in Peru
Week of April 21st will focus on Wardwell's on Rt. 17 in Mexico

We are asking our River Valley Community to consciously shop and purchase at the shops listed above. When making your purchase, be sure that you tell them that Ideaville sent you! Then go to Ideaville on Facebook and tell us how you feel about your local purchase! http://www.facebook.com/groups/ideaville/

Anyone that is interested in the future of locally owned businesses in the River Valley are invited to attend future meetings. The meetings will include gathering and sharing information that will help identify needs and gain ideas for the River Valley. If you know of a River Valley small business that could use support of the local community and Ideaville's Initiative, please contact us.

River Valley Ideaville is a group of concerned citizens from the River Valley that was formed in 2011. Long term objectives of these meetings would include increasing interest in River Valley locally owned small businesses, help stem the exodus of businesses from the area, increase purchases of local products, and get commitments to meet specific small business needs in the River Valley.

The Ideaville Group will continue to meet regularly to accomplish these long-term objectives. If you have any questions or to RSVP, please contact Annette Marin noviewfarm@roadrunner.com or Phone (207) 364-1080 http://www.facebook.com/groups/ideaville/

Gone Loco! Cafe & No View Farm are pleased to announce a few more vendors, most important are 2 more Local Farms! Their products will be available for purchase in our online store, Western Maine Market and in our farmstand! See link below

Welcome - Whippoorwill Farm from Hartford & Lollipopa Farm from West Paris. In addition, we have an account with Associated Buyers, a organic/natural/ethnic foods distribution company, (so we have access to Pineland Farm Products).

Whippoorwill Hill Farm is operated by Lee Holman and her partner. Currently Lee's eggs are listed on our Western Maine Market. Soon I hope to have her Parsnips in stock, provided she has any left. I pick them up when they are available at Fare Share COOP In Norway. Lee grows an array of proeducts but another product not to be missed is her sweet corn! While not Certified, Lee's growing practices are organic / natural . Lee offers a limited amount of CSA shares and is a vendor at Farmers Markets - including the new farmers market in Jay. Central Maine Farmers Market

Lollipopa Farm is owned by Donnie & Jeanette Baldridge. Lollipopa is very similar to No View with greenhouses, gardens and an in house bakery and CSA programs. They are one of the few year round operations in Oxford County. They provide salad mix to the school systems. They also grow an array of vegetables and will be providing us with greens for salads. Jeanette makes some amazing breads, of which, I have purchased also at Fare Share COOP. We will be carrying some of her bakery items too! Lollipopa attends local farmers markets and grows by organic and natural methods.

Check out our products and products of our local farms on our online website at: http://harvesttomarket.com/farmers-market/Western-Maine-Market/local-farms/No-View-Farm-zandz-Bakery

You can order products direct here and have them delivered to No View Farm - We have CSA shares available for purchase = call me at 364-1080 for more information!
